Hello, Arcona Commanders!
🏰 We've been discussing castle scouting and defense with you. Thanks for the feedback! 🙏 Let's break down how the mechanics currently work and why they're designed this way.
🤔 Why the "Information Asymmetry"?
It's a core part of the strategic design!
The Attacker (Raider) sees only the tip of the iceberg: Castle HP, base Damage, and the Stake. Enough to assess risk and potential reward. But they don't know who's waiting behind the walls. That's their risk.
The Defender (Castle Owner) acts proactively. Their main move is to build a strong and diverse garrison BEFORE the attack. Without units, the castle is just a sitting duck.
🛡 Garrison > Walls!
Yes, base castle parameters are important. But it's the combination of units in the garrison that determines if you'll withstand the assault. Your goal is to create a nasty surprise for the raider! 😈
🥇 Silver for Victory: Remember, the reward for a successful defense goes to your main balance, not into the castle itself. You can immediately convert it to Gold or $ARCONA!
📊 Why no detailed post-battle reports?
We intentionally don't provide a full breakdown of forces after a battle.
1️⃣ Hidden factors influence the outcome (boosters, artifacts, randomness) which a report wouldn't fully capture.
2️⃣ It would kill the intrigue and strategy – everything would become too predictable and lose the "black box" element.
💡 The Bottom Line: If your "awesome" castle often loses – the problem is almost certainly a missing or weak garrison.
🛡 Fill your castles with Defense units! Experiment with your lineup! This is what will truly change the situation on the battlefield.
